Lisa took some amazing shots that day and proved that she’s got photo skills. Mike D only had a few days to write the article after the images got tapped for the September 2010 cover. Much thanks to both of them and the Cycle Source guys for making this happen.

By noon we had a full house and the parking was covered in bikes. Tobe from Street Dogs was making the Rock N Roll loud! and everybody seemed to win at the raffle.

Turns out the folks at Harley-Davidson’s Dark Custom blog went to Hippy Killer and they commented on one of our bikes and some of the other stuff going on. — check the link for all the dirt!

The Chicken Wing has so many interesting elements.  Here are just a few: ’59 Pan motor, rebuilt by Matt Griffith, small Mikuni MIC carb, modified Offenhauser Corvair oil pan, Knucklehead pipes with Panhead flanges and custom tips, Fat Bob gas tank narrowed and tunneled with pearl blue, silver leaf and lace paint job by Sweet Baby James, modified Flanders handlebars, Spitfire mid-control mount, custom foot controls, custom seat from Pascal at Riff Raff Leather.” - Harley-Davidson Dark Custom blog

Nope…the photographer steps up and asks us to leave our own shop because the model was “nervous”. 

Nervous? Are we that bad?

So the truth is we went across the street and had tacos while the photo jockey shot the eye candy.

All in a days work I suppose… Next time Casey – don’t bring a shy model!

Thanks to the guys at Born-Free – Grant, Harpoon, Mike D. and everyone who put this together and all the guys at Pacific Coast Cycle who hosted the space.  

With the free food, beer and no entry fee – Born-free was like a huge bbq at a friends house with amazing bikes everywhere. (These pics were mostly taken during set-up and as the show opened, then we were too busy to shoot).

After a great day at the show , Chris & Fiona stopped by Ink & Iron to check out X and then headed over to the packed Born Free After-Party at  Alex’s Bar in Long Beach - the perfect end to the day.  (click on image for slideshow)

Heads up on parking from the guys at Born-free . The show is @ Pacific Coast Cycles 2430 Lewis ave, Signal Hill 90755 from 12 to 6 pm. Lewis ave will be closed at 25 th to Nevada for the show.There will be NO CAR PARKING in the closure area.  The guys at Born-Free are asking that if you come by car please park on any other street but Lewis. They want the whole street to park all the bikes.
